Vaccination Awareness Month
June is vaccination awareness month at Clermont Animal Hospital, Inc. Many serious diseases can be prevented by keeping your animals up-to-date on their vaccinations. If you are not sure of the current vaccine status of your pet, please contact our hospital at (513) 732-1730 and we will be happy to help you determine which vaccines are needed and when they are due.
A special note on the Bordatella vaccine in dogs: Please be aware that your dog does NOT need to stay at a kennel to get kennel cough. This is an airborne bacteria that is spread when a dog coughs. Dogs with exposure to other dogs in the neighborhood, at the park, at the groomer, or on a trip to the pet store are all at risk. This disease causes a nasty cough and a fever. In severe cases, it can lead to pneumonia. The vaccine can be given yearly with the annual Distemper-Parvo vaccine; however, dogs with high risk of exposure (kennel visits, grooming or exposure to infected dog, etc.) should receive the vaccine twice a year. If your dog is not up to date on the Bordatella vaccination, take advantage of our June special below:
- During the Month of June, mention this add to receive $5 off of the office visit when vaccinations are given.
- During the month of June, we will waive the office call charge for any dog needing ONLY a Bordatella vaccine. (Dog must be up-to-date on all other vaccinations and must not have any problems requiring the doctor’s attention.)
